Askm & Good Afternoon HND CE & CEM 25,
Below are compressive strength results for your cylinder specimens tested at exactly 28 days age. You should utilize these results to further backup your report.

Talking to some of you, I gather that most are already clear with the updates on the grouping schemes, so I won’t repeat what has already been stated below.
Since 2 groups will therefore be assessing the same set of data, I will add 5% to the group which produces the better report between the 2 to ensure you work independently within your group. (In total there are 16 reports with 8 sets of data).
Wassalam & Regards
Pg Dr Saiful
P.S.. I THINK ITS NOT VERY CLEAR ( RESULT TEST), PLEASE DO CHECK OUR EMAIL FOR MORE DETAIL.

Fresh Concrete practical reports
Common mistakes:
· Batching errors for Group B (and possibly Group C): if you have spotted that the actual quantities of ingredients were wrong, you should have pointed this out as these would have affected workability (and other properties) of the concrete.
· For the compacting factor, the masses of partially-compacted concrete and fully-compacted concrete must exclude the mass of the empty cylinder.
· Copying procedures straight from the handout. Thus, many left out how slump was measured using a ruler and tamping rod.
· Similarly, which specimens were hand-compacted and which were vibrated or uncompacted were not clearly stated in most reports.
· Some of you did not include the apparatus & procedures for batching, mixing, casting, compacting and curing, focusing only on the workability tests (slump and compacting factor).
· Many left out answering question no. 4. If the workability was higher, then the slump and compacting factor values would have been larger, and the concrete for your specimens would have been easier to scoop, pour, cast, compact and finish. And vice-versa for lower workability concrete.
· No references were given by many of you, although it is clear that some material (e.g. table of different workabilities) were copied from other sources. This constitutes plagiarism, and should have received a fail grade (if not worse). Be careful with this for future reports.
· There is no need to mention irrelevant material like Vebe tests, asphaltic concrete, what hydraulic cement is, etc. Your report should focus on what was done in the practical itself i.e. batching, mixing, workability tests, casting, compaction, curing.
· I have noticed some groups copying from previous years’ reports – and thus making a lot of mistakes.
· “Equipment” is always singular, never plural (“equipments”).
· “Coarse” aggregates, not “course” aggregates. Don’t rely on spell-check too much.
· It appears very few of you, if any, referred to the relevant British Standards listed in your handout. This would have helped significantly.

Selamat Hari Raya to all muslim students.
Please find attached the handout for the fresh concrete laboratory practical to be held this coming week. You will need to print it out and read through it thoroughly in preparation for the practical. If you do not read and understand the procedures, it is likely that you will make mistakes and cause unnecessary delays during the practical.
Don't forget to wear your overalls and safety boots for this practical.

survey ohh survey
Assalamualaikum.w.w. and Good Afternoon.
As some of you had asked me regarding the test on my part, I will include everything that I had taught you from the theory to the calculation (including the use of the calculation table).
What I WILL NOT include in this test or the exam is the title “Adjustments using Bearing Misclosure” which are in your notes.
Attempting the tutorial that I had given you will give you enough practice for the bearing calculation.
Test details are as follows:
It will be 1hr 30mins.
Miss Roze
Section A:
Two Questions. Answer all
Section B:
Four Questions. Answer only three.
